PAPPA PREPARES TO TEE OFF FOR CHARITY AT GOLF FUND RAISER

Property professionals will be getting into the swing of it again this month (Friday 28th June) as they stage their annual golf tournament for charity.

This year, golfers will be heading to Staddon Heights Golf Club in Plymouth to compete for glory in the popular event, organised by the Plymouth Area Property Professionals Association (PAPPA).

PAPPA has recruited Plymouth-based WeDoGolf.com, who organise and run corporate golf events, as well as golf holidays and breaks, to stage the 2019 tournament on its behalf.

First held in 2006, the tournament is one of the most popular days on the PAPPA events calendar and, once again, teams of four will be battling it out for prizes and bragging rights in the competition, which this year, includes a putting challenge.

The event will be followed by presentation event at the Treasury in Plymouth, where there will also be a chance for guests to test their golfing prowess on the WeDoGolf.com golf simulator – one of the world’s most advanced indoor golf simulators.

Teams taking part in the golf tournament are made up of PAPPA members, as well as friends and clients – and they will also be helping to raise money for adopted charity, Horizons Children’s Sailing Charity.

Ben Dreher, PAPPA chairman, said it was fingers crossed for a sunny day – and a bumper cash haul for one of Plymouth’s most important local causes.

“This is a chance for all our members to take a well-earned break from their daily workloads and enjoy some great golf and great company” said Ben.

“Everyone who takes part in this event is always tremendously generous and I am sure we will be able to raise a good sum for friends at Horizons.”

Formed in 1991, Horizons Children’s Sailing Charity builds links with communities, schools and families in areas of social deprivation across the city of Plymouth by offering a host of sailing activities.

Every year, more than 3,000 sessions for young people, aged 8 – 19, are staged, which helps them to improve social and practical skills, an increase self- confidence.
